Assistant Professor Dr. Mohamed Khan Afthab Ahamed Khan received his BE degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Madras University, India and MS degree in Electronics and Control engineering from BITS Pilani, India. He received his advanced diploma in Power electronics and drives from Lucas – Nuelle, Germany in 2002 and also from Woo sun, Korea. He obtained his PhD in Robotics, Power electronics and controls from Atlantic University, USA. His research interest includes Robotics, Power Electronics and controls and Motor Drives.

ELANGO NATARAJAN is currently attached to Department of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering, UCSI University, Malaysia as an Associate Professor. He has been in higher learning education since 1999. He has received Chartered Engineer (CEng.) from Engineering Council, UK and Fellow from The Institutions of Engineers, India. He has completed four funded projects and has published 101 research articles in refereed Scopus/WoS Journals as of today. His h-index is 19 in Scopus and 20 in Google Scholar. He is currently working on five funded projects. He has edited three conference proceedings, three books published by Springer, T&F and Elsevier etc. He is currently editor of two special issues in Journal Materials (Q1 in WoS). He has secured many awards including Top Researcher award in 2021.
He is currently supervising seven Ph.D. scholars and three Masters by research scholars. He has been pursuing research in Composite materials, Optimization, Machine Learning, Biomechanics, and Soft Robotics. He is associated with many professional bodies including IEEE, IET, ASM International, Board of Engineers Malaysia. He has been appointed as a Professional Review Interviewer by IET, UK. He is currently the Chairman of IEEE/Robotics and Automation Society, Malaysia.

Dr. Tanveer Saleh has been serving as an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Autonomous Systems and Robotics Research Unit in the Department of Mechatronics Engineering at the International Islamic University Malaysia. Before joining IIUM, he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of British Columbia, Canada. He completed his PhD back in 2009 from the National University of Singapore (NUS). He also worked as a Product Engineer in a spin-off company from NUS named Mikrotools Pte. Ltd. For more than three years. Dr. Tanveer completed his Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2002. Dr. Tanveer’s primary research interest includes non-conventional/ hybrid micromachining, the application of machine learning in manufacturing, and automation/robotics in manufacturing. Alhamdulillah, his research is supported by various national and international funding agencies, including the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, Ministry of Science and Technology Malaysia and the US Air force. He has supervised several postgraduate students who largely contributed to his research. He worked in NUS spin-off company Mikrotools Pte Ltd. for three years. He also worked at the University of British Columbia, Canada, as a postdoctoral fellow for more than one year before he joined IIUM.

Kishore Bingi received the B.Tech. Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Acharya Nagarjuna University, India, in 2012. He received the M.Tech. Degree in Instrumentation and Control Systems from the National Institute of Technology Calicut, India, in 2014, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia, in 2019. From 2014 to 2015, he worked as an Assistant Systems Engineer at the TATA Consultancy Services Limited, India. From 2019 to 2020, he worked as Research Scientist and Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia. From 2020 to 2022, he served as an Assistant Professor at Process Control Laboratory, School of Electrical Engineering, Vellore Institute of Technology, India. Since 2022 he has been working as a faculty member at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia. His research area is developing fractional-order neural networks, including fractional-order systems and controllers, chaos prediction and forecasting, and advanced hybrid optimization techniques.
He is an IEEE and IET Member and a registered Chartered Engineer (CEng) from Engineering Council UK.

Noor Idayu Mohd Tahir graduated from University Teknologi MARA, Malaysia in Mechanical Engineering. She was design engineer in oil and gas industries for 7 years. Currently, she works as a lecturer under the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics, Faculty of Technology and Built Environment, UCSI Kuala Lumpur. Her research interests include design and autonomous robotics.

Sivajothi completed MEng in Manufacturing Management at the University of South Australia and then received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from University of Northumbria, Newcastle, UK. under the supervision of Associate Professor Dr John Kian Tan. Sivajothi is a Senior Lecturer and has served extensively in various portfolios ranging from teaching, operations, research and leadership with over twenty-three years in the School of Engineering, after having spent the past 4 years at Telekom Equipment (a subsidiary of Telekom Malaysia). During this period, he was trained to offer creative and technical solutions to critical problems requiring systems improvement and innovation for its telco clients.

Research wise, Sivajothi is interested in discipline-based and pedagogic research specifically on improvement aspects using improvement techniques and associated frameworks. Among the scope within the disciplined-based research interest are data analysis, safety/risk analysis, multiple criteria-decision making, and smart engineering design of IOT base system. Pedagogic research interests include linking research to teaching and its associated framework. On a personal note, much of the research output presented at a range of conference pivots upon pedagogical ideas within the academic domains. Sivajothi leads the recently established research cluster of Engineering Education, Quality & Technology Management which dominantly concern with all aspects of higher education. Sivajothi’s passion is in coordinating links between the School with industry, professional outfits and university in view of exploiting technological management, innovation and development

Azrina Abd Aziz is currently a senior lecturer at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Malaysia. Prior to her academic appointment, she worked in industry handling the final visual inspection process of IC packaging. She received her bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Hons) from The University of Queensland, Australia in 1997 and MSc. in System Level Integration from the Institute for System Level Integration (ISLI), Scotland in 2003. She then completed her Ph.D. degree in Computer Systems Engineering at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia in 2013. Her recent research interests focus on energy-efficient techniques for topology control in wireless sensor networks (WSNs), wireless body area networks (WBANs) for biomedical applications and medical imaging, and machine learning techniques. Azrina is currently leading the SMART assistive and rehabilitative technology research group in UTP. She is a senior member of IEEE, a member of Board of Engineers Malaysia. She is also the executive committee member of IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, Malaysia and member of IEEE Women In Engineering, Malaysia. Azrina is the journal reviewer of Ad Hoc Networks under the ScienceDirect publisher.

Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad `Athif Mohd Faudzi received the B. Eng. in Computer Engineering, the M. Eng. in Mechatronics and Automatic Control from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Malaysia and the Dr. Eng. in System Integration from Okayama University, Japan in 2004, 2006, and 2010 respectively. He was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Tokyo Institute of Technology from 2015 to 2017. He was also the fellow Academia-Industry Talent Exchange Programme with Ericsson Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. from 2018 to 2019. From March 2019 to date, he is the director of the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (CAIRO), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Malaysia. He is a Professional Engineer practicing certificate (Peng- PEPC), a Charted Engineer (CEng), president for Persatuan Saintis Muslim Malaysia (PERINTIS), committee member of the Malaysia IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS), ASM-YSN member, a member of two Akademi Sains Malaysia Special Interest Group ASM-SIG Biodiversity and ASM-SIG Robotics. In 2020, he received the Top Research Scientist Malaysia (TRSM) award in the area of Robotics.
