Industrial Visit to ABB Malaysia « IEEERAS Malaysia Chapter

As a leader in power and automation technologies that enable utility and industry customer to improve their performance while lowering environmental impact, ABB integrates the competitive advantage of its R&D strength, global experience and technical know-how with local customer interface, production and engineering capabilities. Backed by a presence of more than a century in Malaysia, ABB’s innovations have helped customers to use electrical power more efficiently, to increase industrial productivity and to lower environmental impact in a sustainable way.

Being one of the leaders in the field of Power and Automation, a half a day trip was organized to ABB in order to facilitate the students to have full access to the production unit and the automation and Robotic center. More than 35 students from various engineering disciplines were attended. During the visit students not only experienced the industry working environment, they also learned how the main distribution control switch panel was manufactured, tested and supplied for the outside market. The core value behind Robots in industries in manufacturing and automation area was well received and accepted by the students. They also had hands on experience in programming the latest robots manufactured by ABB. The visit also opened opportunities for the students to apply for the jobs and to do their Internship training in ABB. The event ended at 1.00pm by a warm thankful speech by the event organiser.
